As clock tick-tocks for Anambra state November 16thGubernatorial Poll, over
5000 students under the auspices of Federation of Orumba Student Association
(FOSA) have endorsed the candidature of Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Mr.
Godwin Chukwunenye Ezeemo.
FOSA, a body comprising Orumba North and South students in tertiary
institutions doled its support to Mr. Ezeemo while the campaign team led by its
Director General, Chief Patrick Orjiakor paid courtesy call to the council
areas.
According to leader of the group, Comrade Micheal Okolibe who described Mr.
Ezeemo as the candidate to beat on the forthcoming governorship election as a
result of his giant strides in humanitarian services and employment of labour,
FOSA adopted the PPA's flag-bearer after critically studying the gladiators on
the race and its consultation with stakeholders in Anambra state.
Comrade Okolibe said: 'We are supporting Mr. Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo
because he has human sympathy; a-gentle man with dynamic visions to change the
governance and economy of our great state. He is the only man on the race with
track records even as he lacked political godfather against what is tenable in
other political parties. We are solidly behind him because economic revolution among
other changes is surmountable once he emerged victorious'.
The Comrade also commended Mr. Ezeemo at level of his comportment within and
after the recently conducted APC governorship primary alleging that the said
election was marred with irregularities especially at Umunze, Orumba South
local government area where he noted that one Mr. Ben Oranwusi with other APC's
Officials manipulated the result in favour of Dr. Chris Ngige who incidentally
won it.
While presenting an award of 'go-ahead' to the PPA's Candidate, FOSA said it
has embarked on mass sensitization of eligible voters in the two local
government areas and beyond so as to ensure that votes count during the guber
poll and in furtherance vowed to protect their votes against as well.
Receiving the award on behalf of Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, the Director of Finance,
Godwin Ezeemo campaign Organization, Chief Bernard Okonkwo (Ogbuefi) pledged
that employment, social infrastructures, attraction of foreign investors, youth
empowerment and education will be among the priority of his administration.
In another development, a-group of Students from Federal Polytechnic, Oko,
Anambra state led by Comrade Onyinye Obi have bemoaned the lack of basic
amenities in the polytechnic saying that it has denied them access to better
education.
Comrade Obi who claimed that many students of the polytechnic have lost
their lives while others have been maimed permanently sequel to injuries
sustained on road accident within the institution, maintained that deplorable
road condition in Oko is worrisome even she prayed God and Anambrarians to vote
Mr. Godwin Ezeemo with a view to ratify the various problems confronting the
state.
